Because a mass was in session, I was allowed only to hang out way in the back, and from that distance a surreptitious snapshot would not have been worth it.

Here's a link to photo taken from a closer vantage point. I doubt mass was in session during this shot, but you never know. Even though the posted rules ask tourists to stay back during services and not to ever use flashes, some people broke the rules and got the shots they wanted.
